Alright folks, Couple of things that caught my eye this week that might be of interest. First up; Spiel - a Liverpool based alt-football zine/mag that is beautiful, interesting and too-cool-for-school have been interviewed by Umbro. I really like the magazine, but I can see why others would find it pretentious. blog.umbro.com/post/spiel-magazine-appreciating-the-art-of-football/Second up; The Popular Stand - I really liked this article but it's from one of the best blogs so tha's expected. Nice one Glen, can I have one of your spares now? thetwounfortunates.com/print-media-renaissance-the-popular-stand-fanzine/Thirdly; A Load of Bull - Long-standing Wolves fanzine just hung their boots up, so-to-speak. As opposed to the Donny article, and in fact the general pro-fanzine articles that have appeared over the last year, this one is a bit of a downer. Here's the article, which got a mention on WSC www.junkarchive.co.uk/wordpress/?p=3064I really liked these badges they released which didn't go down well with the club.

Good spots. I've seen Spiel before, felt it was a little to high-brow for me but good for them. Also in the press are Red Issue as they continue to push most muppets buttons. Loved their suarez satire but felt that the muamba joke wasn't very funny. I think if it was funnier it wouldn't have been trending on twitter as more people might have got that the joke wasn't actually about muamba.
